  Topic Goal Questions Type Method The rhetoric of photojournalism on different personality types Understand if there is a rhetorical effect on introverts vs extroverts in photojournalism What photos are most empathetic? Is there a greater effect on introverts vs extroverts? Are certain people more willing to act based on photos? Empirical Literature review, mixed methods The topic I will be going ahead with is the impact on news photography on introverts and extroverts. I want to see what photos affect introverts vs extroverts and if there’s a difference at all. To do this, I also want to delve into the rhetoric of photojournalism and what images evoke strong feelings with an audience and if they have any impact on their actions. Research Topics

I've always had an interest in visual rhetoric and how it influences people. A couple semesters ago, I looked into costume design as visual rhetoric, and that was very interesting to go into. I would maybe like to go on another branch of that, looking at another aspect that hasn't really been delved into much. I actually recently read the book  Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking , and that briefly touched on how different images evoked different reactions from people that helped to differentiate extrovert and introvert personality traits. Something like that could be interesting to go down a rabbit hole into.
