Research Gaps
The main research gap I found was the lack of work concerning news rhetoric and personality types. There's plenty on news rhetoric and the impact it has one people and how images are impactful tools of rhetoric, and there's some research done on the effect of images on introverts. However, there is little on the impact of specifically news rhetoric on introverts versus extroverts. Where my own research comes in is finding that research and seeing if there is a difference in the levels of empathy that personality types feel toward strangers. I think it would be interesting to see how personality types react to news rhetoric and the images that are shown on a daily basis and if people are more willing to act based on what they see. The main gap was this effect of empathy between introverts and extroverts, so it'll be interesting to see where the research goes and if significant data emerges.
That is such an interesting idea. I never thought about how certain rhetoric is received between introverts and extroverts. Of course, different people see and are convinced by different things, but I hadn't considered this angle. I think this is definitely an interesting angle to go from! I would ask if you're considering looking at ambiverts too, but that might be too broad. Introvert vs. extrovert is a nice binary to work within.
